The world’s #1 DJ is coming back to Denver this Wednesday, May 8th. Armin Van Buuren is biggest name in trance music, which Denver has always had a soft spot for. Armin’s last outing to the Mile High City was a stop at Beta Nightclub, but this time he will take on a much larger stage at the 3000+ capacity Fillmore Auditorium, which has recently hosted the likes of Flux Pavilion, Savoy, and Bad Boy Bill.

One of my favorite names in minimal – Daniel Portman put his latest installment of his Demansk mix series up for free download over at his Soundcloud. I have been enjoying this collection of tunes for the past few days and thought it fit to share. Take a listen and tell me what you think. I also included a preview that was released yesterday from his upcoming EP. It is an impressive tune which I for one am eager to get my hands on. Bump the bass and enjoy.

Rhian Sheehan – Nocturne 1985

Rhian Sheehan is a name that I have been watching for a long time. Coming out of New Zealand, he has made a name for himself for his work in film. A great deal of his original soundtrack work is available on his Soundcloud. He is “known for his unique melding of experimental electronica with orchestral music and environmental sound recordings.” He has release 5 albums to date, and his latest work “Stories From Elsewhere” is available for purchase via his Bandcamp. Today I decided to post a track off his latest release called “Nocturne 1985,” which immediately has become one of my latest jams. His work is inspiring and has a very unique feel. Listen to find out what I am talking about, I am sure there is something there for everyone. Take a moment to enjoy this exceptional music.

Hot off the press today, we’ve got a brand new tune from Maor Levi and Pierce Fulton. ’Wanna Be’ is a vocal anthem from a talented pair of young producers. Maor Levi, from Israel and Pierce Fulton, an American bring us two unique mixes of this inspiring track from Cr2 Records. The original mix, a more progressive house style anthem has Fultons house vibe as the focus of the drop. In the club mix however, Levi’s big chord trance style shines through with a strong electro foundation. Both of these mixes are sure to hit the festival circuit this summer so keep an ear out and support it on beatport today! HERE is a link to grab them.

Maor Levi makes his debut headlining The Belasco Ballroom in LA tomorrow the 13th. With his previous release being a couple tracks on Anjunabeats Volume 10, I’m sure he has plenty of great music to choose from for this set as he takes on one of the most beautiful venues in the city. Tickets are no longer available online but you might get lucky if you show up early.

Rusko @ The Ogden Theater, 4/12 & 4/13

L.A. transplant and UK native Rusko, considered by many to be a founding father of the dubstep scene, will be invading the Odgen Theater for two nights of Denver dubstep madness. Rusko comes to Colorado often, most recently for Snowball 2012 and 4/20 at the 1st Bank Center, but this time he will be headlining and will likely be bringing out the production guns. Rusko may be the most energetic DJ to see live, so grab your tickets while you still can and get ready to party UK-style!

MiMOSA & Belly Up Aspen 4/5/13

Tigran Mimosa has been on the Colorado radar for some time now, having toured with some of the biggest CO acts including Pretty Lights himself. This trip-hop, bass, glitch, and trap producer is as versatile as they come and he will be bringing his beat machines to Aspen to rock Belly Up on 4/5. MiMOSA absolutely floored me years ago at Red Rocks and he has grown a lot as an artist since our last encounter. His latest trap foray, FutureTrill Vol. 1, is truly a testament to why this genre has blown up in such a big way. Expect MiMOSA to blow the roof off of this tiny venue as the ski bums and snow bunnies get down these fresh, trapped-out beats.

Eric Prydz aka Pryda has been on a musical tear as of late. Between his monthly podcast EPIC and his February Essential Mix, we have been blessed with a slew of unreleased Pryda, Prydz, and Cirez D tracks, many of which remain unnamed. One of my favorite tracks from his mixes has received a name (Power Drive) and was subsequently released today on Beatport. It starts out in typical Prydz fashion with a understated melody that progresses into an edgy electro driven anthem. Go grab a copy today!
